Like every drawing, there are mistakes here. Like all mistakes, they don’t matter.

Almost every drawing has a moment of fear and worry. At some point, I make a mistake. It stares back at me from the sketchbook.

Some time ago, a part of me wanted to tear out that page. Or quit the drawing and paint over it.

So I keep going. And the mistakes soon vanish into the rest of the drawing. It all works out. The whoopsie doesn’t matter in the end. I know it’s there, but no one else seems to notice or care.

I have drawing rules for myself. I don’t know where I would be without them. The rules let me do my best work.
