This is the live recording of my introduction and demo at this month’s Sketchbook club.
Following my restriction-induced drawing breakthrough, I’ve recently started working in two colours, making drawings like this.
The pens I’m using seem to be only available in Japan, but I am pretty sure they’re identical to Pentel sign pens. The same technique works with other media: coloured pencils, fine liners, kid’s pens or markers.
Through a bit of experimentation, I’ve found there are a few key ideas to make this kind of drawing work:
